Excellent seafood and service

This is a neighbourhood restaurant, family owned by persons that know fish and seafood (one of the owners previously worked in the Athens fish market).
The place is quite spacious, neatly but minimally decorated and prepares and serves fresh quality food. The evening of what was our first visit, we ordered to share:green salad and horta, grilled octopus, marinated eel from Mesolongi, fantastic fresh fried potatoes, fried salted cod, steamed mussels, grilled calamari and again marinated eel! Everything was tops. The house white wine was a great accompaniment to our meal and we were offered complimentary watermelon to conclude our meal. Service was friendly and prices most reasonable. This is definitely a place to return again and again.

I wanted to keep this a secret.

This is a hidden fish heaven. In a narrow street with apartment buildings around, the owners of Psaromania know their fish and are honest at the same time. This was our last lunch before flying back to Cyprus. Our friendly staff at the Hotel Habitat gave us directions. Everything served was fresh, greatly cooked, very well served and ample. We had the best red Mullet in years and the bill was half of what we paid in other fish restaurants

Fresh, Simple, and Excellent

A small unassuming fish & seafood taverna hidden in the residential part of a Northern suburb, nowhere near the sea, is an unusual proposition, to say the least. And yet, Psaromania ("Fish mania") offers more than my title suggests: it is also pleasant, neighbourhoodly, and very reasonable (how 'bout moules marinieres @ 6 euro sound?). Simple dishes (small fry, tasty french fries, salads, larger fresh fish...), simply and nicely cooked and served fast -- even on Sunday lunch where the place is jam packed. The owner seems to have been a fishmonger in an earlier life and knows the sea well.

These guys know their fish, very fresh grilled perfectly. We had sardines and Kolios (very close to mackerel); and they have raw clams on the shell, which I adore. Great plate of mixed boiled veggies. The white house wine is very nice. And the bill was really fair. Great friendly service. A lot of these great quality fish tavernas are usually too busy for their own good. This one is a bit of well kept secret, try it while it lasts. Do not expect creative, surprising dishes but if you stay with the classics, it is a great place.
